Demonstrating the continued support for Mr. Mohamed Benjelloun’s long-standing commitment in favour of yosung excluded people, a commitment illustrated in highly concrete terms during the International Year of Sport and Physical Education for development and peace in 2005, held under the auspices of the United Nations, the Mohamed Benjelloun Foundation was created in the same year with a view to supporting and promoting development and peace through sport.

The Foundation is active in the Middle East, through support for sporting events and organisations that enable young people to integrate and acquire basic values. The Foundation is therefore fully part of the on-going dialogue between civilisations and helps, in various ways, to improve relations between the East and West.
The Foundation is apolitical. It was registered in Vaduz (Liechtenstein), it has its liaison headquarters in Geneva (Switzerland) and an office in Cairo (Egypt) for the Middle East. The Foundation may, from time to time, take part in actions in favour of development, in the fields of education and economics, in partnership with other bodies, both governmental and non-governmental.
